FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta has reacted strongly after being eliminated from the UEFA Champions League, warning of a new complaint to UEFA.
Laporta expressed his dissatisfaction with referee Clément Turpin's decisions in the match against Atlético Madrid, describing them as unacceptable and harmful to the Catalan club.
"I expect we will make a new complaint, because what happened yesterday is unacceptable. There are decisions that have greatly damaged the interests of Barcelona and this cannot be tolerated. It is a disappointment. What they did to us is a shame," declared Laporta.
He also mentioned some specific episodes, emphasizing that in the first match a clear penalty was not given and a red card was incorrectly awarded. While in the second match, according to him, the red card for Eric García, the annulment of Ferran Torres' second goal, as well as the non-awarding of a penalty against Dani Olmo were incorrect.
Laporta also added that there were also serious tackles that were not punished, citing the case of Fermín López, who suffered a cut to his face without even being given a yellow card.
We recall that Barcelona has also filed a complaint with UEFA for the first leg against Atlético Madrid, regarding the decisions of the main referee István Kovács and VAR referee Christian Dingert.
