It has been confirmed that the match between Serbia and Albania, scheduled to take place at Red Star Belgrade's Rajko Mitić Stadium, will be moved to another venue. The change comes after an official request from the Serbian Football Federation, which was also approved by the Albanian Football Federation and UEFA.
The new stadium will be "Doçica" in Leskovac, a facility reconstructed in 2023, with a capacity of 8,000 seats, much smaller compared to the original stadium in Belgrade, which has around 52,000 seats.
The decision comes after recent incidents at the England match, which are expected to result in severe sanctions, including playing the match behind closed doors and large financial fines. In addition, concerns about a repeat of the incidents and the difficulties in controlling aggressive fans have led the organizers to request that the match be held away from Belgrade.
