After the loss to Switzerland and the wave of criticism that followed, Kosovo has given a strong response on the field of play, defeating Sweden with a score of 2-0 at the “Fadil Vokrri” stadium. A victory with weight not only for the points, but also for the morale and atmosphere that is returning among the “Dardans”.
The team led by coach Franco Foda played an excellent first half, imposing pace, tactical discipline and efficiency in counterattacks.
The first goal came in the 25th minute, after a carefully constructed move. Dion Gallapeni burst into midfield and provided a beautiful assist for Elvis Rexhbecaj, who, after two attempts, beat Swedish goalkeeper Robin Olsen and set the stadium alight.
Just a few minutes later, Kosovo struck again. This time it was captain Vedat Muriqi who finished off a perfect counterattack with a top-class goal, doubling the advantage and securing an exceptional first half for the home team.
In the second half, Kosovo prudently managed the score, not leaving much space for the Swedes and controlling the pace of the game until the end.
With this triumph, Kosovo not only gains three important points in the qualifiers, but also restores enthusiasm and confidence among the fans. Coach Foda's boys showed that they are determined to fight until the end for their objectives and that they have the character to react in difficult moments.
