The leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, in an interview with local media commented on the latest developments regarding the formation of the new government, the mandate for which Glauk Konjufca has been given. The acting Prime Minister implicitly warned that if the Parliament does not approve Konjufca, new elections could be held in December of this year.
On the other hand, if the Konjufca 1 Government manages to be formed, new elections will be postponed to April, when a new president is also expected to be elected.
"The opposition has the choice of the path forward, either Kurti 2.5 towards elections in December, or Konjufca 1 towards elections in April. Each of them is acceptable to us," Kurti said.
The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, despite opposition objections, officially mandated Glauk Konjufca to form the new government.
Konjufca succeeds Kurti, who failed to form a parliamentary majority. According to the Constitution, he has 15 days from taking office to present to the Assembly the new composition of the executive, which must receive the support of at least 61 deputies to be elected as prime minister.
