
An official of the European Union was injured on the evening of November 4 in the city of Gjakova. Kosovo Police announced that at around 19:57, the foreign citizen had sought medical assistance after being injured with a sharp object. He was initially treated at the QKMF in Gjakova and then transferred for specialized treatment at the QKUK, in Pristina.
The case has been taken into consideration by the Special Prosecution of Kosovo, which in cooperation with the Police has initiated all investigative actions to fully clarify the incident. The spokesperson for the Prosecution, Arbnora Luta, confirmed to KosovaPress that the investigations are being conducted in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code, while due to the initial phase of the investigation, no further details can be provided.
"The Special Prosecution is undertaking all necessary investigative measures in coordination with the relevant Kosovo Police units, with the aim of fully clarifying the factual situation. Given that the case is still in its initial phase, we cannot share more information at this time," Luta declared.
The event was also confirmed by the European Union Office in Pristina, which reacted by expressing shock at the incident and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured official.
"We are shocked by this event and wish the staff involved a speedy and full recovery. An investigation is underway and the authorities are establishing the facts. As the investigation is active, we cannot provide further details at this time," the EU Office said in a statement.
According to the 24-hour report of the Kosovo Police, the injured person had two wounds caused by a sharp instrument.
