Thousands of citizens have gathered in the main squares of Pristina to protest against the Special Court. The rally was called by the Kosovo Liberation Army War Veterans Organizations, who claim that the court is attempting to distort and rewrite the history of the KLA war.
Public figures who once played a role in the establishment of this court have also joined the protest, adding to the symbolic weight of this civic mobilization.
The organization's vice president, Gazmend Syla, stated that all measures have been taken to ensure that the protest takes place peacefully and dignifiedly, but with broad participation.
We recall that in August 2015, the Kosovo Assembly approved constitutional amendments that led to the creation of the Specialized Chambers, at a time when the country was governed by the PDK-LDK coalition.
