Following the failure of efforts to form a government by the Vetëvendosje Movement, Kosovo will go to extraordinary parliamentary elections in December. The decision was confirmed after a meeting called by President Vjosa Osmani with political party leaders.
The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, underlined the need to announce elections as soon as possible to avoid crises that harm the country. The leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Memli Krasniqi, also supported this option, considering the election the only way out of the political impasse.
The only one who gave a concrete date was the leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, who proposed December 7th for holding the elections. The leader of Vetëvendosje, Albin Kurti, did not speak to the media after the meeting.
