"I had an abortion because my mother beat me", 14-year-old Albanian

A serious incident has shocked Greece today, where a 35-year-old Albanian woman is reported to have raped her 14-year-old daughter, causing the latter to have an abortion as she was pregnant.

It was initially reported that the minor girl presented herself to the police with a fetus in a bag, claiming that everything happened as a result of brutal violence by her mother.

The 14-year-old's mother has been arrested and charged with felony murder, intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm, and termination of pregnancy.

However, Greek media reported the testimony of the girl's brother, which sheds a different light on the details of the investigation.

"Three months ago she was at our house and said to my father: 'Dad, I'm going to get a sandwich' and left. Hours and days passed and she didn't come back. We didn't know she was pregnant. My father and I were in Evia. My mother went to the apartment to see her daughter and three people appeared in front of her. After a while, my mother called me and told me that they had taken her to the Police Station. There was never any trouble with my sister," said the 14-year-old's brother.

Meanwhile, the 14-year-old's father testifies that the girl was married without informing him.

"My wife left after two days, we were waiting for someone to call us. My daughter got married and didn't call us to let us know, we looked for her for days and at the Police. We looked for her for two and a half months and she didn't call us. It was a kidnapping, she left on her own or they stole her, I don't know. Now my wife has been running around the departments for two days. I want her to go to a doctor to see where she was hit. There was never a fight, she's lying. We have no contact with her. I find it strange that she was pregnant."
