Elected MP Ivi Kaso explains that in the first days of September, the DP Presidency, the National Council and a group of MPs, including Kaso, proposed holding a National Assembly in the near future. This Assembly will determine the main milestones of the party's political action and will make important decisions about the opposition's strategy.
Within the party, the old-timers remain in favor of radical paths, while the young, who are waiting to sit in the MP's chair for the first time, prefer to fight within the institutions, using formal political mechanisms.
Kaso emphasizes that one of the main issues that must be addressed is Berisha's amnesty from election analysis, a decision that is directly related to how the DP will engage in parliament and how it will organize its political action.
The dilemma remains: should the DP enter parliament and use the institutions to effect change, or continue to ignore them, keeping the opposition outside the system. This decision, according to Kaso, will determine not only the party's actions in the coming months, but also the way the opposition will confront the country's institutions.
