Jose Mourinho has been officially introduced as the new coach of Real Madrid, thus starting his second adventure on the bench of the Madrid club.
The presentation ceremony took place this Tuesday behind closed doors, without the presence of fans and media. Footage of the event was broadcast only by Real Madrid TV, the club's official channel.
Mourinho appeared alongside president Florentino Perez, with whom he signed his new contract, and then posed in a personalized Real Madrid shirt. "I'm coming home," was the Portuguese coach's first comment after returning to Madrid.
After the ceremony, Mourinho spoke briefly to the club's official media and described this return as even more special than his first adventure.
"The first time I arrived at Real Madrid was the pinnacle of professional success, but now there is also the emotional and personal aspect. I believe this phase is more special than the first," Mourinho declared.
"I'm one of you. I've always been like that since the moment I left," the Portuguese added, stressing that his aim is to create a culture of work, responsibility and ambition at Valdebebas.
Mourinho returns to Real Madrid after several years, with the objective of returning the team to success and establishing discipline and strong competition within the group.
