The short film Two People Exchanging Saliva, starring Kosovo actress Luana Bajrami, has been awarded the "Best Live Action Short Film" award at the Academy Awards ceremony.
In this film, Bajrami plays the lead role in a story set in an unusual Paris, where kissing is prohibited by law.
The narrative presents an absurd and cold reality, where the characters face strange rules and unusual restrictions.
Winning this award also places Bajram's name on the biggest stage of world cinema.
The actress, originally from Kosovo, from the village of Pleshinë in Ferizaj, has attracted international attention after the film in which she stars won the Oscar for best short film with actors.
Bajrami immigrated to France at the age of seven. She was born on March 14, 2001, and is known for her appearances in the films Portrait of a Lady on Fire (2019) and School's Out (2018).
In 2021, she also made her directorial debut with the film The Hill Where Lionesses Roar, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and subsequently won awards at several international festivals, including the Calgary International Film Festival and the Raindance Film Festival.
