The Municipal Council meeting in Bulqiza has been interrupted amid tensions caused by the presence of residents of Gjorica, who oppose the construction of photovoltaic panels in their area.
Residents say the project directly affects pastures they have used for years for livestock, putting their livelihoods at risk. They also claim that the project's approval process was flawed, noting that signatures in support of it were collected from people who are not residents of Gjorica.
The situation escalated further with the presence of large police forces, who prevented residents from entering the hall where the meeting was expected to take place. According to reports, even right-wing councilors were not allowed to enter, as the door to the hall was closed.
They were informed that the meeting had been postponed to another date, although the scheduled time for its holding had not yet arrived.
The event has raised questions about the transparency and functioning of local institutions, while residents demand that their voices be heard and the project be reconsidered.
