The Kosovo Security Force will become part of the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza, following the signing of the agreement that paves the way for its engagement in this international mission.
The agreement was signed during the official visit to Kosovo by the ISF Commander, Major General Jasper Jeffers, and the KSF Commander, Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari. The signing ceremony was also attended by the Acting Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, as well as a representative of the Peace Board.
During the ceremony, Jeffers welcomed Kosovo's decision and willingness to join the mission, appreciating the importance of the KSF's contribution to international efforts to guarantee peace, security and stability.
On the other hand, Bashkim Jashari emphasized that the participation of the KSF in international security missions is part of Pristina's vision to make a concrete contribution to promoting and maintaining peace in the world.
According to the KSF, the signing of the agreement constitutes an important step towards strengthening Kosovo's role in international efforts for peace, security and stability. The Kosovo Security Force has also announced that it aims to continuously increase its contribution to international security.
The strategic objective, according to the KSF, is for Kosovo to gradually transition from a "security importing" country to a "security exporting" country, through active participation in international missions and operations.
Albania will also be involved in the international stabilization mission in Gaza. In the first phase, the Albanian contribution will focus on sending staff officers, who will be integrated into the command structure of the international force.
Subsequently, depending on the situation on the ground, further developments and operational assessments, a decision will be made on the possibility of sending other Albanian troops as part of the mission in Gaza.
The commitment of Kosovo and Albania to this force marks a direct involvement of the two countries in international efforts for stabilization and security in Gaza.
