Former MP Monika Kryemadhi appeared this Thursday at the Special Court, where the next trial session on the merits against her and former President Ilir Meta is scheduled to take place.
Upon arrival at the courthouse, Kryemadhi did not spare any jokes with journalists. When asked by media representatives, she responded briefly with the words: "The sun is shining."
The trial against the former couple has faced several postponements in recent weeks. The hearing scheduled for October 22nd was not held due to a boycott by lawyers, while the one scheduled for October 29th was also postponed, causing the parties to return to court on November 5th.
SPAK has filed charges against Ilir Meta and Monika Kryemadhi for passive corruption, money laundering and concealment of assets. According to the prosecution, there are suspicions of illegal benefits and corrupt relationships related to various agreements and the exercise of public functions.
The continuation of the judicial review of the file is now expected, while the accusations raised by SPAK remain to be proven during the court process.
