Switzerland has decided to no longer grant licenses to companies that want to export weapons to the United States due to the ongoing attacks on Iran, relying on its traditional principle of neutrality.
The Swiss government stated that the export of military materials cannot be authorized to countries that are involved in the international conflict with Iran while the war continues. For this reason, arms exports to the US cannot currently be approved.
Authorities in Bern added that no new licenses have been issued for arms exports to the United States since the start of the American and Israeli attacks on Iran in late February. The decision is part of Switzerland's strict policy of neutrality in international conflicts.
In the meantime, a group of experts will continuously monitor the situation to assess whether further measures should be taken under Swiss neutrality law.
