US President Donald Trump, during a speech in Memphis, Tennessee, where he is expected to talk about the fight against crime, also gave a brief update on the war with Iran, stating that Washington is trying to understand whether a broader agreement with Tehran can be reached.
"I've been negotiating my whole life, but we've been negotiating with Iran for a long time. This time it seems they're serious," Trump said, adding that he believes Iran has agreed it will not have nuclear weapons.
Trump also stated that a significant portion of the Iranian leadership has been killed since the start of the war and warned that Iran has "one more chance" to achieve peace.
"We hope they seize this opportunity. Either way, America and the entire world will be much safer and the planet will be safer," he said.
However, on the other hand, the speaker of the Iranian parliament, Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, has denied that there are negotiations with the US, calling statements about talks "fake news."
