President Donald Trump has announced that on February 19, 2026, he will hold a meeting with the international "Board of Peace" initiative, where a package of financial and security commitments for Gaza is expected to be announced.
In a statement published on the Truth Social platform, Trump announced that the member states of this board have pledged over $5 billion for humanitarian aid and reconstruction in Gaza. According to him, the participating countries have also committed to contributing thousands of troops to an international stabilization force and local police structures to ensure security and peace for the residents of the area.
Trump stressed that the “Board of Peace” initiative has “unlimited potential” and recalled that in October of last year he had presented a plan for a permanent end to the conflict in Gaza, which – according to him – was unanimously approved by the United Nations Security Council.
He added that after the presentation of the plan, the distribution of humanitarian aid was enabled at an accelerated pace and the release of hostages. The US President stated that the next meeting would be held at the “Donald J. Trump” Institute for Peace in Washington, DC, where the new commitments would be formalized.
In his statement, Trump demanded that Hamas respect its commitment to complete and immediate demilitarization, describing the "Board of Peace" as one of the most influential international bodies and emphasizing that it is an honor for him to serve as its chairman.
