Donald Trump announced that he would lift tariffs and restrictions on whiskey and bourbon "in honor of the King and Queen," following the conclusion of Charles and Camilla Windsor's visit to the United States.
Shortly after the royal couple's recent meeting with Trump at the White House, the American wrote on Truth Social: "In honor of the King and Queen of the United Kingdom, who have just left the White House and will soon return to their wonderful country, I will remove the tariffs and restrictions on whiskey associated with Scotland's ability to partner with the State of Kentucky in the whiskey and bourbon sectors, two very important industries in both Scotland and Kentucky."
"People have wanted to do this for a long time, as there was a lot of cross-border trade, especially with used wooden barrels. The King and Queen had me do something that no one else was able to do, without even asking me! It's a great honor to have them both in the US ," the president concluded his post.
