Iran has confirmed the extension of the ceasefire with the United States, leaving open the possibility of future diplomatic developments, but without committing to an immediate resumption of negotiations.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai, in statements broadcast on state television, did not give a clear position on whether Tehran is willing to participate in a new round of talks with Washington in Islamabad.
According to him, diplomacy remains an instrument for protecting national interests and security, emphasizing that decisions on its use will depend on the existence of appropriate conditions.
This stance is seen as a signal that Tehran is keeping communication channels open, but without confirming the immediate start of negotiations.
On the other hand, Iranian diplomats have stated that there will be no return to talks without the lifting of the "American blockade of Iranian ports", adding that "there will be no negotiations under threats".
According to them, communication with Pakistani mediators is continuing, with the aim of creating the necessary conditions for the possible resumption of negotiations in the future.
