The MP of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Armend Zemaj, was involved this Friday in an incident in "Ibrahim Rugova" Square in Pristina, where he is reported to have hit a citizen. The incident occurred around 15:00, while the police have launched investigations and have seized security camera footage.
Zemaj stated that he reacted after provocations and verbal insults from citizens, but admitted that violence is not the right response, publicly apologizing and describing the incident as a "lesson for more patience."
LDK has strongly condemned the attacks and insults against Zemaj, describing them as an infringement of the dignity of representatives of the people and democratic institutions.
Meanwhile, the citizen's lawyer, Liridon Kutllovci, stated that his client was attacked without physical provocation, emphasizing that Zemaj insulted him and then punched him. Kutllovci has warned of taking legal action to protect the citizen's dignity and seek legal responsibility for the case.
Kosovo Police have confirmed that the case is under investigation.
