Israel's Supreme Court has ordered authorities to immediately improve the food conditions of Palestinian prisoners, saying the state has a legal obligation to guarantee a "basic level of existence." The lawsuit was filed by the Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI), which warned of cases of malnutrition and starvation.
The decision comes amid mounting pressure on the Israeli government and mass protests in Gaza over the release of hostages. US President Donald Trump issued a "final warning" to Hamas to accept the hostage deal, while Hamas declared its readiness for negotiations.
On the ground, the Israeli offensive continues with bombings, killing 87 people in the last 24 hours. According to the Gaza Health Ministry, the number of Palestinian casualties has reached over 64,000, figures that the UN considers credible.
