British police on Friday identified the two people who were killed during the attack on the synagogue in Manchester.
Authorities say Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66, were killed on Thursday. Both were local residents.
They were killed after a man drove his car into pedestrians and then began stabbing people outside the Hebrew Congregation Heaton Park Synagogue in the Krumpsall district of northern England.
Authorities identified the suspected attacker as Jihad al-Shamie, 35, who was shot dead by police at the scene. He was a British citizen of Syrian origin.
“Our deepest condolences to the families of Mr Daulby and Mr Cravitz,” said Chief Constable Lewis Hughes in a statement.
British authorities are treating the incident as a terrorist incident and police said they had arrested two people.
