
A tragic incident occurred on Sunday at the Arruda Câmara Zoo in Brazil, where a 19-year-old man was attacked by lions, losing his life. The victim, identified as Gerson de Mello Machado, suffered from psychological problems, according to local authorities.
According to reports, the young man first climbed a 6-meter-high wall, crossed barbed wire and then used a tree to climb down into the lion's cage. A video recorded by visitors shows the moment of the attack.
The zoo has been closed until further notice after the accident, while authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances of the tragedy. Officials stressed that the facility was implementing all safety measures, but the incident has raised concerns about visitor protection procedures.
