A 25-year-old woman with the initials AD, who suffered severe burns to around 85% of her body as a result of a fire at the hotel where she was vacationing, has headed to Turkey to receive specialized medical care.
After stabilization and intensive care at the "Mother Teresa" University Hospital Center (MUT), all medical and administrative procedures for her transport have been completed, the Ministry of Health announces.
The transfer was carried out in close cooperation between the QSUT, the Turkish Embassy and the Turkish health authorities.
All costs of medical treatment at the Turkish hospital will be fully covered by the Albanian state, through the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the announcement states.
