A large-scale fire has engulfed the mountainside of Kruja, creating a critical situation in several areas of the city. The flames have advanced towards the Abaze neighborhood, where about 30 homes are at risk.
Due to the difficult terrain and the inability to intervene with firefighting equipment in some of the fires, the extinguishing operation is also being carried out from the air. Two helicopters continue the intervention by dropping water on the area engulfed by the flames, with the aim of localizing the fire and preventing its spread to homes.
Meanwhile, Kruja's firefighting forces are positioned near the mountain, where in addition to homes, several businesses are at risk, as well as the sacred site of Sarisalltik.
The most alarming situation is in the Abaze neighborhood, which has about 300 homes, as the flames are approaching some of them. Forces on the ground are working to keep the fire under control and protect residential areas.
