Around 10 people who were escorted and questioned as part of the investigation into the murder of 65-year-old Viktor Bardhi in Mirdita have been released.
After receiving the evidence and conducting verifications, investigators have not found any elements that could link the persons involved to the serious assassination attempt that occurred in the village of Nderfushas.
Meanwhile, investigations to identify the perpetrators continue. The investigative team is analyzing security camera footage in the area, as well as along the roads leading to the location where the burned vehicle was found after the attack.
It is suspected that the perpetrators have monitored the area in advance and planned their movements to avoid security cameras. So far, no movement has been detected in the areas covered by the cameras that could help in their identification.
Investigators are also examining the terrain for possible traces or evidence, as there is a suspicion that the executioners may have approached the scene of the murder on foot.
The main line of investigation remains that of revenge, linked to the conflict between the Reçi and Bardhi tribes, which dates back to 2016 and is suspected to have caused at least nine victims. However, other lines of investigation outside of this conflict are also being investigated.
Viktor Bardhi was executed on Thursday morning, about a kilometer from his home. The 65-year-old was on his way to the waterworks to open the village's water supply line when he was shot with automatic weapons near an underpass.
At least 30 bullets were fired at him. It was the residents of the area who noticed the vehicle and notified the police.
