The Albanian Bar Association has decided to boycott court hearings from today, until the Special Court's regulation banning the use of mobile phones by lawyers and journalists is suspended, as they consider it an unnecessary measure bordering on censorship.
The boycott, according to the decision of the Chamber of Advocates, will not apply only to security measures. The Chamber of Advocates demanded the immediate suspension of the regulation and its complete revision.
The regulation approved by Special Chief Judge Erion Bani has been met with strong criticism from all stakeholders.
