Not having a single person within your hierarchy to run for Tirana is called capitulation and political degradation. When it is said that you need someone who gets votes from the citizens, it means that those you have in the party only get votes within the courtyard of the headquarters, so they are soldiers without prestige.
Party figures with a certain prestige have always run. Mustafaj, Ngjela, Olldashi, Basha, and even Bamir, who did not run but could have won, were party figures of the former DP.
Today, by accepting that no one is needed as a party member, it is being accepted that party members there are at a level where they can be laughed at. It is being accepted that the party has such a degenerate and comical image that Tirana society calls it something with a scab that should be kept away from; therefore, the candidacy must be disguised, someone without a scab must be brought out or supported, someone who does not openly identify with the party in question, because if they were identified, they would also be called a scab and their points would drop in public. Like the communists of 100 years ago who, because the public called them terrorists, infiltrated their members into platforms with a slightly more acceptable name and face.
This day, where the former DP stands today, was initiated by Sali Berisha, but was made possible by thousands of militants and sympathizers who supported his project for a DP where there are only blind loyalists, where only people are promoted who have no opinion or judgment, no courage and strength of character, but only obey and submit to Sali Berisha.
If until yesterday it was something different, there were intermediary faces between the party and the rest of society, today it is just them, that clan, and as a result they have to re-mask themselves, because their faces are not at all sympathetic. This day did not come by chance, they worked for this day.
Now give him another term at the head of the party (2026-2030) to give it the finishing touch, to make it like Vojislav Seselj's party in Serbia, which has only stadium hooligans and fanatics who believe that Tsar Dušan and the medieval kingdom should be resurrected — and anyone who is against said resurrection should be spat on, cursed, declared a traitor and a sellout.
