The news that is being written daily about Albanian Radio Television borders on scandal. Dozens of people have been forced to publicly demand payment for the work they have done, and only after this has the administration agreed to respond.
I cannot conceive that in 2025, a public institution is treated by management as if it were private property!
Who is responsible for the accumulation of debts? How were programs contracted without having the budget in the corresponding item and who approved them?
If commitments were made outside of the budget funds, the former directors and the Steering Council are responsible for creating arrears and have committed abuse of office.
If the new management has found these violations and is not reporting them, then it is covering up an affair at the expense of the people who worked there before.
And the other thing, in finance there is a rule: you cannot take on new commitments (programs and shows) without first paying off the outstanding debts. It is a shame that RTSH has reached this point and not made payments!
The greatest shame is to call for help from the Ministry of Finance, in addition to the tax we pay every month (for an institution that does not apply any accountability standards), and to put our hands in the pockets of citizens once again. Surprisingly, this proposal has also been made by several journalist associations...
The worst thing that happens then is the publication of the royalties of former collaborators in the media and portals to make them 'meat for cannon' even at the expense of the image of RTSH. Ironically, the publications are made by journalists who are paid as collaborators in RTSH by the new management. So stop this comedy and carry out the task you have undertaken!
PS Respect to all colleagues and nothing personal with anyone who may find themselves the subject of what I have written...
