The latest report of the General Prosecutor's Office for 2025 has revealed data on crime in areas in Albania.
According to official data, the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Tirana remains the most overloaded institution, registering 36.62% of the total number of criminal proceedings in Albania. This record level is related to the high population density, concentration of institutions and economic activity in the capital region.
After Tirana, the two regions with the highest criminal and procedural activity are Durrës with 9.51% and Korça with 7.48%. The figures continue with a close balance between the north and the south:
Shkodra: 7.31%
Fier: 7.08%
Vlora: 7.01%
Elbasan: 5.59%
At the bottom of the list, with the lowest percentage of proceedings registered nationwide, are the prosecutors' offices of the northern and southeastern districts, which also reflects the demographic movements of recent years:
Kukes: 2.45%
Dibra: 2.38%
Berat: 2.50%
Gjirokastra: 2.86%
While prosecutors' offices like the one in Tirana face an unbearable influx that can lead to prolonged investigations, areas with low percentages like Dibra or Kukës point to a different social reality, but also to a new judicial map that is having its effects.
