Despite the uncertainties surrounding the new round of talks between the United States and Iran in Islamabad, authorities in Pakistan continue preparations to receive delegations.
According to two security sources in Pakistan, two large US C-17 military transport planes landed at an air base on Sunday afternoon, transporting security equipment and logistics ahead of the arrival of the US delegation.
At the same time, municipal authorities in Islamabad have suspended public transport and restricted the movement of heavy goods vehicles in the city, as part of security measures.
Increased security measures have also been observed near the Serena Hotel Islamabad, where talks were held last week. The surrounding area has been cordoned off with barbed wire, and the hotel has asked all customers to vacate the premises.
Recent developments underscore the importance of these talks, which are expected with high international interest, while it remains unclear whether the meeting will take place as planned in the coming days.
