The crisis in the Middle East is escalating. The Israeli army has received the "green light" for a new ground offensive in Gaza City, codenamed "Gideon's Tanks B". The plan approved by Defense Minister Israel Katz is expected to be one of the largest since the start of the war on October 7, 2023.
Some 60,000 reservists have been called up to reinforce this offensive, with the stated aim of pressuring Hamas to release the hostages. However, only a portion of the reservists will go to Gaza – the rest will serve on other fronts.
Meanwhile, the figures from the Gaza Strip are alarming: over 62,000 killed, of whom more than 18,000 are children, according to Gaza authorities.
