US President Donald Trump told Fox News that he watched the overnight capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife as if he were watching "a television show."
"If you had seen the speed, the violence, it would have been an amazing thing," Trump said.
He praised his team for "an extraordinary job" and added that "there is no other place on earth that can do such a maneuver."
Trump also stated that he spoke with Nicolas Maduro a week ago, instructing him to surrender.
"We had to do something much more surgical, much more powerful," Trump said.
"We were going to do this four days ago, but the weather wasn't perfect," Trump added, while revealing that when Maduro was captured, he was "in a house that was more like a fortress than a house" with "strong steel all around."
