France and the United Kingdom will organize a conference with like-minded countries aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz, French President Emmanuel Macron has said.
He has described this initiative as a "multinational peace mission."
In a post on the X platform, Macron announced that discussions will also include Iran's nuclear program and the situation in Lebanon.
"This strictly defensive mission, separate from the warring parties in the conflict, aims to be deployed as soon as circumstances allow," he stated.
Macron also added that France is ready to "play its full role."
