A Hamas representative has stated that the movement is ready for the full transfer of governance in the Gaza Strip as soon as possible, but stressed that this process depends on the full opening of the Rafah crossing, on the border with Egypt, without obstacles from Israel.
Hamas spokesman in Gaza, Hazem Qassem, announced that protocols have been prepared and files have been completed, while special committees have been tasked with implementing the process, with the aim of handing over governance in all areas to the National Committee, created within the framework of the American plan to end the war.
According to Qassem, in order to achieve the transfer of governance, it is necessary for the members of this committee to have access to the Gaza Strip. He demanded that the Rafah crossing be fully reopened in both directions, without any obstacles from Israel.
