What started as an unexpected moment at a music concert has turned into one of the most talked-about scandals of recent weeks. Kristin Cabot, 52, who went viral after being filmed kissing her boss during a Coldplay concert, has officially filed for divorce from her husband, businessman Andrew Cabot, less than a month after the incident.
The video, which quickly spread on social media, showed Kristin cuddling with Andy Byron, CEO of Astronomer, in a romantic moment on the Kiss Cam. Meanwhile, her husband, Andrew, was on a business trip in Japan, unaware of the scene that was going viral around the world. The couple, who just five months ago bought a luxury villa worth $ 2.2 million, are now facing the separation of their marriage. Divorce papers were filed on August 13 in the state of New Hampshire, according to data obtained by the Daily Mail.
This is the third marriage for Andrew Cabot, CEO of the famous rum company Privateer and heir to an aristocratic Boston family, otherwise known as the “Boston Brahmins.” Reactions have also been received from his third ex-wife, Julia Cabot, 63, who commented in strong tones after the video was released:
"He's a classic 'Boston Brahmin', with a big ego and emotionally cold. More than feelings, I think his pride was hurt. Everyone wrote to me after the video with just one word: karma."
Sources close to the couple say that up until a month before the incident, there was no sign that the marriage was in crisis. On the contrary, Kristin and Andrew appeared in love and spoke openly about their relationship.
"They were talking about their love. Now that they're saying the marriage has been falling apart for months, it seems more like an excuse," a source told the Mail.
Neither Kristin nor Andrew have made public comments since the scandal broke. However, their story has sparked much public discussion, showing once again that a moment caught on camera can have unpredictable consequences.
