Sali Berisha has convened the leadership of the Democratic Party (DP) today, 4 months after the disastrous results of the parliamentary elections of May 11. During all this time, the leader of the DP has appeared alone almost every day at press conferences, denouncing the “electoral farce” and warning of actions and acts in September. But with the arrival of autumn, it seems that the heat of opposition action has also decreased.
After 4 months, the members of the DP leadership have heard in a concise manner all the details of the electoral farce, the non-recognition of the result and, along with them, they have received Berisha's message to get ready for the first session of parliament. Not recognizing an electoral process like the one of May 11 seems like a normal action, even though it is a well-known refrain for the DP. But after that, getting ready to enter parliament raises a big question: if you don't know the process, how is it possible to obey the result that comes out of it and become an integral part of the "electoral farce"?
Oppositionism within the parliament that emerged from the May 11 elections is a normal political act for the opposition, but not a political act when it declares for 4 months that it does not recognize these elections. At the meeting, Berisha asked: “Who has anything to say?” There followed 3 minutes of silence, and then he himself announced the decision. The products of the closed list, of course, cannot have eyes and ears to see and mouths to oppose the party leader. But it is good that they find a strong reason to justify the unjustifiable: we do not recognize the election results, but we will go to parliament.
