Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić had a telephone conversation with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
This call comes at a time when the US administration of President Donald Trump has placed a hefty reward for his arrest, calling Maduro a "threat to national security."
The head of Belgrade considers Maduro a great friend of Serbia and underlines that he talked with him about current global challenges and increasing bilateral cooperation.
Vučić claims that he thanked Maduro for not recognizing Kosovo's independence.
"Serbia greatly appreciates Venezuela's principled and continuous support when it comes to preserving our territorial integrity and non-recognition of Kosovo's unilaterally declared independence," Vučić wrote in a statement.
It is currently unknown what effects the Vučić-Maduro phone call will have on relations between Belgrade and Washington.
