Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has admitted to his charitable foundation that he met with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and confirmed relationships with two Russian women, apologizing for his decisions.
Gates stressed that he had not committed any illegal acts. He admitted to meeting Epstein in 2011, three years after the latter was convicted, adding that he had not properly checked his background.
According to reports, the contacts between them continued until at least 2014, and the billionaire has admitted to spending time with Epstein outside the US, but denied visiting Little Saint James Island. Gates' name is mentioned in the documents published in the case, however he has not been accused by any victim.
His ex-wife, Melinda French Gates, has previously said that everyone involved in the Epstein case must be held accountable. The couple divorced in 2021.
